Perth Observatory, Western Australia’s oldest observatory, is located 35 km east of Perth in the picturesque suburb of Bickley. Recognized for its scientific, cultural, and historical importance, Perth Observatory was added to the state’s Heritage Register in 2005.

• Solar Telescope Observation
Observe sunspots through solar telescopes.
• Museum Visit
Explore the rich history and scientific exhibits at the museum. You'll also have the chance to touch real meteorites! A special display area is set up where you can handle and explore these fascinating substances from space. It’s an unforgettable experience, offering a deeper connection to the mysteries of the universe.
• Astrographic Telescope Visit
You'll have the chance to visit the historic Astrographic Telescope and learn about its operation. This experience offers fascinating insight into the history of astronomy and the technology behind these remarkable instruments. Explore how these telescopes work and understand their role in advancing our knowledge of the universe. It’s a unique opportunity to step back in time and appreciate the ingenuity of early astronomers. You can even operate it yourself!
• Sundial Demonstration
Learn how a sundial works by observing it in action.
• Worl Wangkiny
Discover the fascinating world of Indigenous astronomy at Worl Wangkiny. Indigenous Australians, the world’s first astronomers, have studied and interpreted the cosmos for navigation, calendars, ceremonies, cultural lore, songlines, and art for thousands of years. Indigenous astronomy is an essential part of Australia’s heritage, and sharing these stories and knowledge of the night sky fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of the universe across all Australian cultures.
2. Guided Crafting Sessions:
• DIY Fluid Character
Choose your favorite fluid character and select three paint colors. Mix the paints and pour them over your character, watching the colors flow and blend. This relaxing process is both fun and meditative.
• Paint Planet Lamp
Design and create your own unique lamp in our DIY Planet Hand-Painted session! Inspired by the planets in our room, choose your favorite colors and patterns to bring your creativity to life and light up your space with your custom masterpiece!
More craft options are constantly being updated, so you can choose the ones you love to create.

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy: Clients can reschedule as many times as needed. No refunds unless the event is canceled by the organizer.
At least one parent must be present with children for the 'Fun Workshop and Tour at Perth Observatory.' The cost is $20 per accompanying person, which includes the Observatory tour.
